Evolutions Client Guide: Changing from onsite to remote
Working both remotely and onsite at Evolutions
Getting Started
Avid workstations at Evolutions can be used both onsite and remotely from home. This guide will show you the steps needed to swap between the two, helping enable your hybrid working environment as and when you choose.
Please note the steps below are for once you have logged into your edit suite. If you are having trouble logging into the Teradici software itself, please refer to the guide included with your Teradici login details.
We are always happy to help if ever you need any assistance with any part of the remote workflow. Operational support hours are 0800-2300 weekdays and 0900-2000 on weekends.
Setting yourself up for remote working on Avid.
Once you log into your workstations using Teradici you will have to adjust a few settings for the avid and Teradici to be fully functional together.
Step 1: Set the audio output to ‘Teradici’
Right click the audio button in the bottom right of the windows taskbar. Select ‘open sound settings’
Selecting ‘manage sound devices’ will present you with a window like below.
To work remotely you need to:
Disable Realtek High Definition Audio and Enable Teradici Virtual Audio Driver.
This will force the Teradici software to route through to your setup at home.
Step 2: Disable the Hardware in the edit suite.
Next you will need to disable the avid hardware in the Edit suite itself. This can be done inside avid.
On the timeline toolbar there is a ‘HW/SW’ button that looks like the below. If a stop sign illuminates this button hardware is disabled. This is the setting you want for working via Teradici as this routes the signal to your home edit setup rather than through the hardware in the suite.
Returning to Evolutions to work onsite:
Should you wish to return to the facility to edit onsite the setting your changed previously must be reverted.
Hardware must be enabled on the timeline toolbar.
Sound must be set to Realtek High-Definition Audio in the sound settings.
Should you require assistance at any time please feel free to contact the Edit Support team.
Common FAQ’s:
Q: I’m getting this message when I log into Teradici ‘Broker failed to reach resource on port 60443’
A: The workstation you are using has been turned off. Please contact Edit Support to power up the machine you. We advise you don’t turn off the workstation when finished for the day, rather just close the Teradici connection in the top toolbar of the software. (connection>disconnect)
Q: I am getting the error ‘’This User has not been assigned any workstations’’ when logging into Teradici.
A: Your user information may have been removed for security purposes. This can be reassigned in a few seconds. Please contact Edit Support to do this.
Q: I have returned to my edit after working from home and the screens in my suite are blacked out.
A: This occurs when the workstations graphics card is locked to the monitors in your home setup and they are of a different resolution to the suite. Contact Edit Support to reset these for you.
